Description
Custom Candle Boxes Built Around Every Candle Type
A tea light, a jar candle, and a tall pillar candle aren’t the same packaging problem, even though they’re all “candle boxes.” iPackU builds custom candle boxes matched to the candle actually going inside the right box for a jar isn’t the right box for a tin, and a box built for a retail shelf isn’t built for a hot delivery truck. We start with the candle, not a template.
Why Board Weight Matters for Jar Candles?
Jar candles carry real glass weight, and that weight works against a box that isn’t built for it. Our custom candle packaging boxes for jars use sturdier stock commonly in the 16pt–24pt SBS range specifically so the box holds its shape in storage and transit instead of sagging under the jar’s own weight. Our jar candle boxes are built to that standard, and if you’re stacking multiple units in a shipment, that structural margin is what keeps the bottom of the stack from crushing under the top.
Two-Piece and Window Styles for Retail Shelf Appeal
If your candles are selling on a shelf rather than shipping direct to a customer’s door, presentation carries more of the weight.
- Our two piece candle boxes give pillar and gift candles a premium, telescoping-lid feel that reads as considered rather than mass-produced.
- Our candle boxes with window take a different approach entirely letting the candle sell itself visually, color and texture doing the convincing before a customer picks it up. Neither is objectively better it depends whether you’re selling on sight or selling on unboxing.
Protecting Candles from Movement and Heat
Most packaging worries about drops and crushing. A snug-fitting interior insert handles that, limiting how much a candle shifts during handling so it doesn’t crack or chip in transit. Candles have a second, separate risk, though heat. A delivery truck in July or a sun-exposed doorstep can soften wax especially soy-based blends regardless of how well a standard box is built. If that’s a concern on your shipping route, let us know and we can build in an insulated liner to add real thermal resistance beyond what standard board structure provides. Our candle shipping boxes can be built with the standard snug-fit interior, or with an insulated liner if you need it just tell us what your shipping route requires.
Fire Safety Labeling: A Detail Worth Knowing Before Final Artwork
US candles generally fall under ASTM F2058, which sets requirements for fire safety warning labels visible on the unit of sale, and not covered or obstructed by packaging design. Some brands print the warning directly on the box others rely on a separate label on the candle itself. Either way, it’s worth deciding before your artwork is finalized rather than finding out afterward that there’s no clean space left for it.
General guidance, not legal advice confirm your specific obligations with ASTM standards or a regulatory advisor.
Built for Small Batches and Wholesale Orders Alike
A lot of candle brands start small literally poured in someone’s kitchen before scaling into wholesale. Low minimum order quantities and no die or plate charges mean an independent candle maker ordering a few dozen units gets the same manufacturing attention as a wholesale order in the thousands.
If you’re running a recurring line, our candle subscription boxes are built for consistent, branded unboxing every cycle rather than a one-off design.
And for tea lights or tins specifically where the tin itself is already sturdy but has no shelf presence on its own our candle tube packaging and our black paper candle tubes give it a branding surface it wouldn’t otherwise have.
Finish Options: Tray and Sleeve, Luxury, and Everything Between
Soft-touch matte, gloss, foil stamping, and embossing all make a box feel intentional rather than generic and several of them add real moisture protection during handling, not just visual polish.
Our candle tray and sleeve box is built around that layered, premium unboxing moment, and our luxury candle boxes push that further for brands where the packaging is doing as much selling as the candle itself.
iPackU- Your Reliable Packaging Partner
Tell iPackU what you’re packaging jar, tin, tea light, pillar, or a full subscription line. If heat is a concern on your shipping route, mention that too and we’ll build in the right protection. Otherwise, we’ll match you to the structure, board weight, and finish that specific candle actually needs to survive and sell.

Is there a minimum order quantity for custom candle boxes?
We keep minimums low specifically so small-batch and independent candle makers can order real custom packaging without committing to a large first run.
What board weight do you use for jar candles?
Jar candles need sturdier board commonly in the 16pt–24pt range to support the actual weight of glass without the box losing shape in storage or transit.
Can candle boxes prevent wax from melting during shipping?
A standard snug-fitting interior prevents movement and impact damage, but on its own it doesn’t stop heat from softening wax. If heat exposure is a concern on your shipping route, let us know we can provide an insulated liner on request to add real thermal resistance.
Do candle boxes need a fire safety warning label?
US candles are generally subject to ASTM F2058 labeling requirements. We can help design packaging that leaves space for a visible warning; confirm your specific obligations with ASTM standards or a regulatory advisor.
Do you offer different box styles for tea lights, jars, and pillar candles?
Yes, each candle type has different structural needs, and we build the box style around the specific candle rather than one generic template.
What finishes are available?
Soft-touch matte, gloss, varnish, foil stamping, and embossing/debossing are all available several also add moisture and handling protection beyond the visual effect.
Can I get a sample before ordering in bulk?
Yes, we can provide a sample so you can check fit, structural support, and finish before committing to full production.
Do you offer eco-friendly candle packaging?
Yes, Kraft and recyclable cardboard are available if your candle line leans into a natural or sustainable brand story.
